If Lois Lerner spends as much as a minute behind bars, no one will be more shocked than me.

John Koskien’s resume reads like a typical big-governemnt liberal: Yale Law School, “post graduate work” at Cambridge (England), CEO of the Palmieri Company, a “consulting firm” with the usual government ties, Deputy Mayor of DC, Deputy Director of the OMB, and naturally both served and serves on numerous boards with the incestuous bridging between government and big business that we’ve come to expect. Oh, and he practiced at a “global” law firm and clerked for the Appellate court in DC.
In brief, he likely never welded one piece of metal to another, never took hammer to nail, built a deck, hammered a shed together, put hand to plow, sowed a crop, felt the grease from an engine on his hand, or wrote a single line of code.
Why is this important? Because 95% of the men reading this have done at least one of the above. To sum up, like nearly every Washington insider he has done nothing to leave his tiny corner of the world better than he found it.
Perhaps most damning of all, he was the CEO of the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC), known as Freddie Mac, from 2009 through 2012. In other words, he was a senior member of the team assigned to ensure that during the (manufactured) financial crisis of 2008/2009, the well-connected didn’t loose a penny.
Folks, we can rage against the machine all we want, and I’ll even give Congressman Paul Ryan kudos for a good effort at keeping up appearances, but don’t be deluded into expecting any kind of justice being meted out to these people.
The fortunes of John Koskinen and Lois Lerner are now inextricably tied (or tangled if you prefer) to those of Barack Obama, and the only entity capable of throwing him under the bus is the collective made up of the Democrat party apparatchiks. This of course includes not only the formal political machine but the permanent bureaucracies at the federal, state and local levels, and 95% of all news outlets sans the internet and 95% of the propaganda education establishment. So, don’t expect any movement there. You see, the Democrats learned their lesson 40 years ago at no cost to themselves by simply observing the Republicans and Richard Nixon. The Republicans, naive to the bone, really think that we are all in this together and will readily turn on their party’s president if they think “it’s the right thing to do.” The Democrats clearly understand that if your party holds the White House, you stick with the president no matter what. Both Bill Clinton and Barak Obama have demonstrated behavior equal to and in come cases out-stripping anything done by Richard Nixon. Yet neither one has paid nor will pay any real consequences. Why? Because neither one was abandoned by their party. Democrats understand that there is no cooperating and no “bi-partisanship for the good of the country. There is only “The Other” to be destroyed.
The futures of Koskinen and Lerner are set. They will be buried under offers from universities, foundations, and think-tanks. They will spend the twilight of their careers behind desks and lecterns speaking into microphones and reading off the research and prose done in their name by brilliant interns or graduate students. You and I, on the other hand will have stress-free retirement jobs as Walmart greeters. Not exactly back-breaking labor, but hardly the down-feather landing our masters have come to expect as merely their due. Peace and Tranquillity.
