The Solution To Healthcare.

Healthcare: Time to get serious.

The Commissars of the Federal Government are not serious about providing healthcare. They are on the other hand, serious about controlling the health insurance industry. The difference is important and should come as no surprise to anyone paying attention.

Government is about control. Healthcare, accounting for 1/7th of the United State’s economy represents a lot of control. If anyone is helped along the way, it’s usually an accident.

Healthcare is a big, tempting target for those who would rule over us “for our own good.” If it really were about taking care of the citizens, we could fault the commissars for simply being well meaning and stupid as opposed to just being malicious.

Malicious. I don’t use that word lightly. But there’s no other way to describe it. Government has clearly failed in socializing medicine so perhaps it’s time to put it back into the hands of the people.

The solution is simple. So simple, our legislators can never allow it. Because allowing for a simple solution is to admit to the world that they are superfluous.

If our lawmakers were serious about providing healthcare for all, they would simply provide a tax credit for health insurance premiums and be done with it. The free market – the ultimate and most efficient arbiter of what survives and what does not will sort things out to the benefit of the society. Indeed, it has never not done so.

The Federal Government needs to learn to trust the people, not continually attempt to manage more and more details. The mutual distrust between the Government and the citizenry runs deep, but the onus is not the people to take steps to heal this rift. Such a paradigm is absurd.

Nemesis always follows Hubris.

No, it is the government at all levels that needs to step forward in a spirit of contrition., because it is the government, specifically the bureaucrats and commissars within the Deep State which clearly broken trust with the citizens.

And of course our legislators are no better. One need only observe the betrayal of the three Republicans on the Senate floor going into the weekend to internalize this.

Many will argue that allowing a tax credit for health insurance premiums is a budget buster. I would respond by asserting that the government needs to prioritize. Failure to prioritize for the last 40 years is what has given us our shameful $20T national debt.

Attempting to manage the economy by contrast always leads to disaster, but the hubris or the Deep State apparently knows no bounds, and disaster only scratches the surface of what the Federal Government has done to healthcare in the United States.

The hubris, which leads some to actually think healthcare can be managed, ignores the basic laws of economics. Activities that are taxed will be reduced, and activities that are subsidized will expand to the limits of that subsidy. Inserting a third party separating the costs between provider and recipient will cause the cost of anything increase beyond the rational market.

It’s well past the time to put our trust into ourselves before the system collapses of it’s own weight.
