For A Leftist, Purity Is Everything.
For reasons that escape me, the enemies of Western Civilization feel the need to purge their ranks. The Left is consistent if nothing else.
What is most puzzling is that they are ridding themselves of some of their most useful voices with no help from the Normals.
The irony, systemically lost on those left of center, is that the Marxists have brought this upon themselves. Normals should ignore their usual compassionate urges and feel no obligation to intervene. Given the Left’s default viciousness when dealing with political opponents, I’m more than content to pass the popcorn and watch them burn their house down. Let’s not be too concerned about being good mannered. For once.
Matt Lauer, Al Franken, and the rest are not are not sitting across the table from you playing Canasta. Don’t expect clearly defined rules or anything resembling good sportsmanship. They are your enemies bent on destroying you and everything you love. The Family, the Church – all seen as obstacles to them. They are driven by a hatred for every institution upon which Western Civilization rests. They often displaying talent and the ability to entertain. Yet they never actually build anything and resent those who do with a pathological fervor.

Perhaps there are a lot of liberal men who think they can buy indulgences by toeing the party line on equal pay and Title IX, and emptying their bladders over things like Mitt Romney’s “binders full of women.” To be fair, in recent weeks, quite a few liberals have been coming to grips with the fact that Bill Clinton survived the exposure of his predations precisely because he bought such indulgences. – Jonah Goldberg
Never Interrupt The Opposition While They Self-Destruct.
The defenders of the West don’t have the luxury of turning up our noses and declaring ourselves “better than them.” The country club Republicans have been trying that for 60 years. This has clearly shown itself to be a losing strategy. Throughout the post-War Era, we’ve seen the Marxists dominate K-12, Higher Education, Madison Avenue, Broadcast News, Broadcast Entertainment and Hollywood. They are malignant carcinogens, wrapped around society’s spinal cord.
We need to give up on the idea that Marxists can be reasoned with. They are not going to suddenly wake up and say, “Oh, sorry everyone. Free markets and ordered liberty is the way to go, it turns out!” No, they must be ridiculed and driven from the Public Square, the University, and polite society at large until their toxic influence is eliminated.
I am convinced that the cause of Marxism is a mis-wiring between the amygdala and the frontal cortex. This inability to appreciate cause and effect – or the consequences of action – caused the slaughter of 110 million people in the last century. Leftist are lower life forms and this give them a distinct advantage over the Normals. A Normal will enter a debate with empathy intact and a line they won’t cross. Leftists have no such restraint.
Our Take-Away From This.
Even now, most Normals will observe the sudden implosion of Garrison Keillor, and feel a twinge of regret. I have to admit that I’ve found the Prairie Home Companion mildly entertaining, particularly the recurring segment of Tales From Lake Wobegone. It was always good for a Saturday evening car ride on the way home from visiting relatives. So I need to remind myself of Keillor’s hatred for the family. His distain for the Church, and the very institutions that gave him a voice on National Public Radio.
I have often written that no Bolshevik ever thinks he’s the one that’s going to be show-trialed, shoved up against the wall by his friends, and his family sent the bill for the cost of the bullet. Until they are, of course. Keillor’s dismissal by the his Leftist masters who no longer find him useful is instructive. Leftist purges are a feature, not a bug.
The face of the Left. It’s like the enemies of Wester Civilization are TRYING to get us to believe in Physiognomy again.
Meanwhile, new revelations in the Frankengroping continue to pop up. I think at this point the Pink Hat Brigade is beginning to suspect just how badly they were betrayed by their own. It’s fun to watch the haters of Western Civilization hoist themselves on their own petards. It’s also a good reminder that all forms of liberalism lead to autosarcophagy.
I have no idea how far the current round of purges will go. At least until Roy Moore is seated in the Senate, I suspect.
