The invective goes back to Adams and Jefferson. Of course, they were way before my time. That may come as a surprise to my son. The fact is, political derangement was not invented by the enemies of Donald Trump.
In my own lifetime, I can remember back to the Thomas P. O’Neill and his relentless invective directed towards President Reagan: “The evil is in the White House at the present time. And that evil is a man who has no care and no concern for the working class of America and the future generations of America…” Despicable. So much for the “after six rule.”
For as long as I can recall, Republicans have constrained themselves to Marquess of Queensberry Rules. Democrats of course understand that they are in a street fight and behave accordingly. Respect, fellas. While I despise them, I’ve always admired their tenacity and discipline. Their refusal to give an inch, even when – no, especially when out of power should come as no surprise, when one considers that they can always count on their “friends across the aisle” to abandon their principals “for the good of the country.”
You don’t seek our approval. And that hurts our feelings.
Understanding the animosity of the Democrats and their allies (meaning 90% of broadcast and print media) towards the president is easy. Trump is the first Republican president giving them a dose of their own medicine. The grounding of Nancy Pelosi this week is just the latest example.
His appeal (to his base, whatever that is) is obvious. For decades, the political and media elites have focused their withering contempt on those who turn the wrenches and hammer the nails. Time after time, men like George W. Bush reached across the aisle only to draw back a bloody stump. The GOP establishment with its ridiculous “we’re all in this together” delusion did their best to laugh it off while the wrench-turners looked on incredulously. Trump looked on as well, and no doubt came away with the same conclusions. Understand this, and you understand the Trump voter. Not necessarily the Trump supporter, but certainly the Trump voter.
History is not on the side of the good guys.
The Marxist forces within our nation want a permanent voting majority, and are willing to go to extraordinary lengths to get it. Is the current government shut-down for all the marbles? If I knew that I’d be God.
Open borders is not the means, it is the point. Granting the franchise to millions of people to whom ordered liberty is as alien as indoor plumbing is the point. Bribing the newcomers with tax dollars derived from your labor is the means. Ensuring that you are taxed to the limit, preventing you from ever mounting an effective counter-offensive is the means.
For The Left, there is no finish line.
The motives behind the treatment of Donald Trump at the hands of the political class are easy to divine. The elites are sending a clear message, and it’s not to Donald Trump. The message is for you. It’s for the guy stringing power lines in the dead of winter. It’s for everyone dragging the coal out of the ground, and those wrench tuners I mentioned earlier. In short, the message of for those who hold our civilization together:
Don’t you dare try this ever again. It’s bad enough when you send an Establishment Republican to the Whitehouse, but a complete outsider? No. No, no, and no. Your displacement is a forgone conclusion. This experiment of a freethinking citizenry has had a good run, but it’s over. It’s time to let go of this illusion that you have any say in governance and its time to submit yourselves to your masters once again. This can go easy, or this can go hard. That, at least is something over which you still have control.
We’re going back to feudalism and unless you get your minds right and come to terms with your serfdom, then we’ll bring in millions who will. You will be out-bred, out-voted, and the tiniest glimmer of your legacy will be ruthlessly cauterized. You’ve already seen our willingness to burn the house down with us in it. Do you think we care if you or your children are inside?
Internalize this, and you have the motives behind why the Democrats will not fund the very wall for which they voted. They’re mission at present is to ensure that no one outside the establishment ever gets to the Whitehouse again. If they can’t get rid of Trump, then they will do everything they can to de-legitimize his election.
Even when it over, it won’t be over.
After the 2016 convention, Clinton stooge George Stephanopoulos challenged Donald Trump to name something he has sacrificed. Let me take this one. Donald Trump will lie on his deathbed hounded by unmerited and gratuitous investigations. His children, and perhaps even is grandchildren will be hounded to their graves. The Trump family will never build another building in Manhattan again. Decades of goodwill built with Gracie Mansion. One deal at a time. Obliterated. All because Donald Trump had the temerity to declare that maybe we need to pump the brakes on the abuses of The Establishment.
Selah.
Wow. You are so informed!!!
